HOW TO APPLY?
STEP1: Visit http://admissions.nid.edu
Signup/Register – Provide a valid email ID & an active mobile number.
STEP2: Log in and proceed to Step2 – Application Form.
Fill in all the required details.
Click Save & Proceed to go to the next section to ‘Upload Document’
STEP3:Upload your photograph & Signature.
Photograph & Signature should be in JPG/JPEG format and not exceeding 100kb in size.
[Candidates applying under OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD category are required to upload their valid caste certificate issued by a competent authority.]
STEP4: Pay Application Fee & Print:
Application Fee for B.Des+ GDPD is 2,000 for General & OBC-NCL & 1,000 for other categories.
Application Fee for M.Des is 2,000 for 1 Discipline only & 4,000 for 2 Disciplines for General and OBC-NCL.
[For other categories: 1,000 for 1 Discipline & 2,000 for 2 Disciplines]

ABOUT NID
NID at Ahmedabad and its Bengaluru & Gandhinagar campuses is an ‘Institute of National Importance’ as per the NID Act 2014 as we as an autonomous institute under the Department of Industry Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India.
NID is empowered to award its own degrees- B.Des & M.Des of 4-year duration.
NID Vijaywada & NID kurukshetra are independent autonomous institutes under the DIPP, Govt. of India and offer full time Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) of four-year duration.

Stage 1: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) – Prelims [Weightage – 30%]
DATE OF EXAM: 10:00Am – 01:00Pm on Sunday, 07 January 2018
DAT Prelims consists of two parts:
PART I: Multiple Choice Questions – 70 Points [GAT]
PART II: Subjective Questions – 30 Points [CAT]
Stage 2: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) – Mains [Weightage – 70%]
Only the candidates who qualify DAT prelims can appear in DAT Mains Exam.
Exam to be held in MAY 2018 [Dates to be announced by NID]
The test center will be at Ahmedabad (only for DAT Mains)
This test consists of tests in different formatss such as drawing/sketching, hands-on-model making.
ELIGIBILITY FOR B.DES/GDPD
Age Limit for General Category: 20 years as on 30 June 2018. [Only born on or after 1 July 1998 are eligible to apply]
Educational Qualification: Applicants who have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) examinations in the academic year 2018-19 are eligible to apply.

Bachelor degree of minimum 3-year duration (Must have passed before July 2017)
or
Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design/Fine Arts/ Applied Arts/ Architecture, after 10+2 system.((Must have passed/have appeared for/be appearing for) before July 2018.

Courses offering 15 Seats: 8 (General Category) & 7 (Reserved)
Courses offering 10 Seats: 5 (General Category) & 5 (Reserved)
